A handful of YouTube Shorts creators will start getting paid soon thanks to the Introduction of the YouTube Shorts Fund. This fund will distribute 100 million dollars to the creators in 2021-2022.

You will be notified by YouTube if you are eligible for YouTube Shorts monetization. Below are some guidelines you need to meet in order to get paid as a YouTube Shorts creator.

  1. You need to have an eligible shorts video uploaded to the channel in the last 180 days or 3 months.
  2. Your channel and shorts video doesn’t violate YouTube guidelines.
  3. You have an AdSense account linked to the YouTube channel.

You make money in YouTube Shorts based upon your viewership you are going to get paid between 100 dollars to 10,000 dollars based upon your views on your monetized YouTube Shorts videos.

The monetization of YouTube shorts will take place only in these countries.

  4. Indonesia
  5. Japan
  6. Mexico
  7. Nigeria
  8. Russia
  9. South Africa
  10. Brazil

YouTube has also mentioned that they are soon going to roll out a standalone YouTube Shorts beta version which will allow Shorts creators to get a separate app to share their shorts.
